Leonie & Ben's Wedding at Our Lady Church Belper, and Shottle Hall

Leonie and Ben were the winners of a recent Bespoke Weddings 'Win A Wedding' competition, and we were part of that wedding prize package, producing photographs of the day.

Most of the day was centred around the lovely Shottle Hall, I went a ride over to visit Leonie and her party getting ready, and we to returned there later for the photographs, wedding breakfast and reception.

The clever Kerry from Tineke Floral Designs produced this lovely bouquet.

Then we made the short drive over to Our Lady church in Belper to capture folks arriving for the wedding ceremony itself.

I love this shot of Ben and the guys casually wandering up the road to the church!

The Priest was very welcoming, and was happy to let me spend some time quite close by during the ceremony to get some lovely shots.

We never shoot with flash in church, natural light rules and gives us beautiful effects if used correctly. This approach also ensures that we can work without intruding and causing distractions.

While wandering around Shottle we found ourselves in a stunning dandelion covered field, so stopped off for some yellow themed shots!

Followed by a little pink.

We had to organise a shot to show off Leonie's dress to it fullest, and came up with the shot above.

Then we headed off in search of this hidden away door which I think makes a fantastic backdrop.

The attention to detail was great, and we just had to get a shot of the kids enjoying themselves on the bouncy castle on the lawn.

Another clever lady, Jo from Cakey Wakey produced the cake and dressed the reception room...

Congratulations Leonie & Ben!

Stacey & Pete's Wedding At Ringwood Hall

The glorious setting of Ringwood Hall is always a treat for us, particularly as it's just that little bit further away from us, meaning we don't get to visit on a really regular basis.

Back on a greyish day in May, we were spending the day there with Stacey & Pete for their civil wedding. Stacey was upstairs in full on prep mode, so that was first stop.

Then it was time to make sure the fellas were getting their look together!

I love this caught shot of Stacey's flower girl and page boy having a chuckle just before we got the 'proper' photograph.

Soon enough we got to see Stacey and her dad making their way down the fantastic feature staircase (which we'll return to later) for the ceremony itself.

During the ceremony we were snuggled in at the back of the room with a great view of the proceedings, this enabled us to get some lovely shots from a discreet distance without being intrusive - photographers take note - registrars and vicars love us for this!

After the ceremony it was group photographs time - Ringwood Hall has a great balcony to get a view of the whole wedding party with the lovely countryside in the distance. On the way, we caught Stacey's young bridesmaid at full speed.

Now THIS is what you call a back garden...

Stacey and Pete were fantastic subjects, and despite the increasingly damp weather , and my worrying about dragging them all around the countryside, they were up for every shot we dreamed up!

We did retire inside for a shot with that wonderful staircase, but not for long - they soon had me out and about making the most of their fab location!

If ever there was a shot to liven up a greyish day with a poke of colour, it surely has to be the one below...

Congratulations Stacey & Pete!

Caroline & Dan's Wedding at Spondon Church & Breadsall Priory

Caroline and Dan held their fabulous wedding at St Werburghs Church in Spondon, and that's where I caught up with the chaps just readying themselves for the photo call.

Having spotted Dan's shoes early on, we couldn't miss getting a shot to show them off in their full glory.

Caroline arrived with her mum looking stunning, and this was the first time I actually saw her, as I was banned from getting any 'before' photographs at the house!

We shot a posey picture to show off the vintage Rolls, and then it was off to be wed, battling the wind all the way!

Revd. Julian is fabulous - just about as accomodating and helpful as any church official could be. It's great that he doesn't forget whose day it really is, and, as long as we don't cause any fuss, he allows us to discreetly capture this great angle just after the vows.

It's just lovely when everybody works together to provide the best day for the Bride & Groom.

After the ceremony we headed out for a few shots in the grounds of the church, and by the gates we got together a fab confetti throwing shot.

The image below is actually shot in the garden of a residential care home right next door to the church and we think it looks fantastic!

We arrived over at Breadsall Priory and had a grand time wandering around to make the most of gardens and scenery despite the grey skies and threatening rain...

Inside, everything was all set and looking splendid.

It was those same threatening rain clouds that got us my favourite and most dramatic shot of the day...

Soon enough we headed inside for warmth and safety from the impending storm...

Congratulations Caroline & Dan!
